In This Time

In This Time
by higman

It’s okay /though I’ve seen the miles/ it’s okay /I still have to smile/ and put on that face just to get me through my day /I’m glad it makes the world a brighter place /it’s okay /it really is all right /it’s okay/ I’ve been the one at night /that has replayed things that were only meant for me /isn’t that how life is supposed to be/

We can share and get close to help each other along/ that’s one of the only ways we make each other strong /in a world where turn of events can change the course of our lives/ where tender moments can penetrate our heart like a knife/I understand that you may not understand/ and that’s what matters /it’s taking me a long time to see things myself /and I’ll help you stand /as you help me stand/ as we face storms no longer by ourselves /we get along with each other just fine /we’ve been meant for each other in this time/ we’ve been meant for each other …in this time

Woke Up
by higman
Well I’m tired but I’m raring to go. Seems I’ve finally caught up to my dream.
Over mountains and valleys, across ways and means , it’s not what it once was
but then again I’m not too old yet. Reality tells us you can want what you want but you get what you get.
I wanted to share the sunshine, but I only feel its warmth alone.
I finally caught up with my dream, being woke up at home.

And it’s all good,
got to be true to yourself.
In the end, those that understand, and those that don’t,
you pray blessings for their help.
When you learn to see through the eyes of those that have gone through the years, you learn life is too short but don’t count individual tears.
They come in many forms through sorrow and laughter. Only time will give you the understanding your after.
Then when you take that patience, with non-judgmental eyes, you will see, all of our journeys may not be what they seem to be.

Eventhough I’m tired but I’m raring to go. Seems I’ve finally caught up to my dream.
Over mountains and valleys, across ways and means , it’s not what it once was
but then again I’m not too old yet. Reality tells us you can want what you want but you get what you get.
I always wanted to share the sunshine, but I only feel its warmth alone.
I finally caught up with my dream, being woke up at home.
I finally caught up with my dream, being woke up at home.

Under Our Breath
by higman

Bright as the day is sunny
She always was the one that was funny
Seemingly saw life on the upside
Wide open with not much to hide
During a party with little to drink
You would have missed it if you blinked
Someone bitched about the trouble with their kids
and how life would be if they hid

Such a careless comment
Left out in the open
Dropped in on someone who has lost hope in

Under her breath
was all you could hear
Something lost deep exhaled sorrow and fear
With no more context then a shuttered sigh
There’s more to our stories then what we see with our eyes
If you catch whats under our breath

The stories had been heard before
Everyone loved hearing the open door
As each tale passed his lips
a new light of Grandpas life would be lit
From childhood to war it all came to life
he passed on even in hardships there’s something right
Only a few would notice the fine line
that even grace couldn’t smooth out a time

Even in our carefree times
We’re left out in the open
Where memories remind us where we have lost hope in

Under his breath
was all you could hear
Something lost deep exhaled sorrow and fear
With no more context then a shuttered sigh
Theres more to our stories then what we see with our eyes
If you catch what’s under our breath

Under our breath
Is all you might hear
Something lost deep exhales sorrow and fear
With no more context then a shuttered sigh
There’s more to our stories then what we see with our eyes

If you catch what’s under our breath
